ASI has been offering formal avalanche courses since 1980. We have taught hundreds of recreationists as well as professionals needing to meet industry requirements. Over time, great achievements have been made with curriculum development and many years of teaching experience has brought the most sophisticated and truly useful presentation to best help decision making while in avalanche terrain.
ASI teaches the most current evolution of the AIARE curriculum. Several ASI Instructors have been directly involved with the development of this well accepted curriculum since its inception. Several ASI Instructors currently serve on the AIARE Education Committee and continue to contribute to the evolution of the curriculum. ASI is the most experienced AIARE Provider having taught more AIARE courses and students than any other provider.
Instructor Team
Most importantly, ASI AIARE Avalanche Courses are taught by highly experienced professional ski and mountain guides as well as avalanche consultants. For years, they have been making difficult decisions in moving groups through challenging terrain on a daily basis.
As guides before snow scientists, they have great experience in understanding the fluid dynamics of the many important variables including the complex human factors that affect good and bad decisions in hazardous terrain. As professional guides they share with you the focus of avalanche safety as part of the big picture of the quality of experience the snow has to offer.
2019/20' Instructors include Peter Leh, John Littleton, Sarah Newsome, Mark Speicher, Bill Seline, Zeb Blais,Erin Laine and others.
It's about you and your companion's safety. Isn't it worth investing in the best, highest quality program you possibly can?
