3 Feet Of Cold Snow!

Looks like El Niņo has set his course with the jet stream bringing the storm track right over California and the Sierra Nevada. We knew all we had to do was be patient and here it is!

Skiing at Sugar Bowl is unbeleivable and there is more snow on the way. Come up and ski some early season powder.

Telemark Weekend at Sugar Bowl
Come work on some early season telemark turns and ski with the best. Master Instructor, Geoff Clarke is ready to share his telemark knowledge and tricks.

Featured Book
With each Newsletter, we feature one of our favorite books from the library at the ASI Backcountry Adventure Center at Sugar Bowl. Look for them when you stop by for a visit.

Storm, by George R. Stewart
A fantastic novel presented to us by a student who took a Level 1 course taught out of the Lake Mary Cabin, next to old ASI on top of Donner Pass. The story traces a major storm generated in the North Pacific baring down on San Francisco, then forming blizzard conditions for days over Donner Pass. It colorfully creates the story of the fight to keep Donner Pass open to traffic, keeping the railway open and the telegraph wires clear in 1940.

We look forward to skiing with you and helping you achieve your goals. If you can't find the answer to a question on our website, don't hesitate to give us a call.

Sincerely,
Bela & Mimi Vadasz - ASI Directors
