Multi-Day Trips

Hidden Valley Base Camp     3 Day
Hidden Valley Ski & Splitboard Mountaineering

This 3-day trip may be the bowl skier's and rider's dream of all time. From Bunny Flat we tour a day to the base camp location in beautiful Hidden Valley. From our camp there are nearby bowls as well as options to climb Shastina and Shasta itself providing endless opportunities for everyone. Early in the trip we clinic in techniques, including the ice axe, ski & boot crampons and review the use of avalanche transceivers, probes and shovels.

The Option to take the three days and do a summit ascent and descent will be on May 3-5, 2019. Not going to Hidden Valley but straight up the avalanche gulch and do ice practice and then camp and have one or two day for the summit attempt. REGISTER >>>
Cost: $695

Dates:
May 3-5, 2019 (Fri-Sun)
May 27-29, 2019 (Sat-Mon Memorial Weekend)

Itinerary
Day 1 - After meeting at Shasta Base Camp in the town of Shasta at 8:00am, we will have orientation, gear check and group gear distribution. We will then carpool to Bunny Flat Trailhead and begin our tour to Hidden Valley and our campsite location (about 4-6 hrs.). We will conduct mini skills-clinics along the way. After camp construction, we usually have time for a late afternoon side ski.

Day 2 - Usually, our biggest ski day choosing our best objective, based on conditions and our group strength. If we have enough registration for 2 teams, we can create a more and less aggressive climb & ski.

Day 3 - The third day allows plenty of time for an additional morning summit climb & ski descent, returning to basecamp by about noon, breaking camp, packing and skiing out back to the trailhead by about 4:00pm.
